Quiz Bowl: Quiz bowl/academic bowl is a team competition against other schools that rewards competitors who are quick on the buzzer in one or more areas of knowledge. Students practice once a week and enter several tournaments a year.

History Day: Individuals or small groups create historical presentations, videos, performances, or research papers following the year's national theme. The regional competition is in March with the potential to advance to state and national competitions.

The Technology Student Association fosters personal growth, leadership, and opportunities in technology, innovation, design, and engineering. Members apply and integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) concepts through co-curricular activities, competitive events and related programs.

Earth Club is a student organization centered around environmental education, leadership development, and outdoor activities. Environmental service projects have included facilitating the CSAS school-wide recycling program, raising money for Heifer International and World Wildlife Fund, and participating in Tennessee River Recue. Outdoor activities include canoeing, hiking, caving, and camping. Students are encouraged to expand their leadership abilities by planning and implementing school-wide projects, eco-trips, and community service. Earth Club meets every Friday in room 261, and new members are always welcome.

Student Government Association provides a venue for students to play an active role in the leadership of Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences. There is a Middle School SGA and High School SGA, which operate independently. The executive board of each SGA is elected by the student body, and a representative is elected from each advisory. There are also merit leader positions for students who are interested in participating without voting rights.
