Lori Murphree

Dear First Grade Students,

Welcome to first grade! I am so happy to have you in my class! I hope you had a great summer and are ready to come back to a new school year.

First grade is a very important year in becoming better readers and writers. We will work hard, but we will have plenty of fun, too! We will be learning about space, ocean, continents, and gardening. We have many field trips in first grade that provide hands-on learning opportunities.

We will be respectful to our classmates and treat them the way we want them to treat us. We will use kind words and hands with each other at all times. We will be responsible for our actions and our belongings. If we do something unkind, we will make restitution.

Please bring a healthy snack, water bottle, and homework folder to school every day. Please read at home with an adult or older sibling at least 15 minutes everyday.

I am excited about getting to know you! It’s going to be a great year!

Sincerely,

Ms. Murphree
